PRL Newsletter

As Covid-19 continues to upend healthcare across the country, major insurers are now struggling with a significant backlog of owed payments to providers and hospitals. According to a recent article published by Kaiser Health News, the largest insurers in the country, including Anthem Blue Cross and UnitedHealthcare, owe billions in unpaid claims. They are citing the ongoing pandemic, new reimbursement rules, mishandled claims, and technology problems as the culprit.

Patients are finding themselves in the middle of this dispute between insurers and hospitals. Many are concerned about having to pay out of pocket for unresolved claims and some patients have already had disputes with major insurers who are refusing to pay claims. PRL is aware of these challenges and we will coordinate closely with your practice in the event there is a payment dispute with an insurer. We are always here to support our customers.

We encourage you to read the full article on Kaiser Health News so you can get a full understanding of what is happening. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
